6 Things that You Can do to Stand Out from Your Competitors

If your company produces, sells, or provides services that are above and beyond the quality and value in comparison to other competing companies then you are already on the right track. You can stand out from your competitors by either 1.) Advertise better 2.) Market better 3.) Have a better product or service 4.) Hire an advertising team 5.) Hire a marketing team and I’m going to add a 6th one, hire a great sales team. In sports, the best teams have what in common? They have the best talent pool of players, or they just have a cohesive cooperative group of team players that share a common goal. Winning. When you play a game what do you want to do when you play that game? Win, right? It’s a no brainer when it comes to sales. You want to win the deal or make the sale, right? Isn’t that the name of the game? To win? Of course, it is. You don’t play a game competitively and try not to win. A good way of sticking out from your competitors is to use big words, great logos or pictures, and great design. A good design goes a long way. A bad design will cost you a lot of lost time and money in the long run and will also diminish your reputation.

You may have the best product on the market, but if your design sucks, then who’s going to want to even look at the product? Also, if you are doing your own advertising, make sure it looks professional. Take a graphic design class if you need help in getting the right amount of positive and negative space in an ad. You will learn a lot and have a great time learning and being creative because creativity is key. Be creative. If you can generate a lot of attention because you are doing something different than the rest of the pack. You will have stood out amongst your competitors. People reward hard work and a lot of effort. Hard work pays off in the long run, so if you are doing all you can do to get ahead. Then you are doing what you are supposed to do. But before we get into all of the motivation mish mosh, you need to advertise better.

1. Advertising Better

Use A/B Regression tests when creating marketing advertising. What is this you may ask? Well, it is when you try using 2 graphics. Then see which one works better by analyzing the click through, traffic, user interaction, etc. The one that performs better usually is the one that grabs the audience’s attention better. Thus, producing more clickthrough’s because it is simply a better advertisement. So, by using trial and error and analyzing the data from the website traffic you can advertise better by utilizing the best set of ads that you have instead of sticking with the same ones that don’t produce any results. Use pictures that attract the audience, also use memes or words that show the user what the message is that you want them to see.

2. Market Better

This sort of goes along with advertising better, but marketing strategy is important in the beginning phases. For well established companies, this may be easy, but if you’re just getting going, you need to be consistent with your marketing efforts or else it will look like you’re just doing this one time with no continuous support going forward. The content will get stale and you will end up losing customers because they simply think you’re a phony. Look genuine and make email marketing campaigns. Maybe you have a flyer or printouts. That always works too. Think of it like a political campaign. Your motivation will guide you to success if you stick to your guns and market like you’ve never marketed before. Or you can try to hire a marketing firm. But be forewarned, they are not all that good depending on the product or service. You really must go through different marketing companies through trial and error. This really is the only way to find that perfect company that fits your company’s strategic goals. There is a certain art to marketing and with the right team, it will make a big difference.

3. Have a Better Product and/or Service or Sell a better product

If you have the best product or service on the market, and you know that for a fact due to all the 5-star ratings that you have on Google or Bing, how do people know that it is the best product? Well, usually by word of mouth, people get to know about a product either by their Google Search or maybe their friend, family member, or neighbor recommended them to that awesome product or service. For instance, a friend of mine recently had his car fixed. He had a new suspension installed in his vehicle. The auto mechanic that put that in recommended that he go to an Auto Body shop that he knew about in the area to fix the other things wrong with his vehicle. So, he brought his car in and had them look at it. His experience with auto mechanics, auto shops, auto body shops etc. goes back a long way, as he used to have a lot of issues with his previous cars. Whether it was getting into a fender bender, wear and tear on the car or other problems like driving the car harder than normal. Anyhow the whole point of what I was trying to say is that people tend to listen to trustworthy people that they know. How do you know that a company is trustworthy? Usually by their 5-star rating system results. Also, if you are looking for a good auto mechanic that is close to where you live. Are you going to go with the 2-star rated auto mechanic or the 5-star rated auto mechanic? Unless you are good friends with the 2-star guy and really know him/her then more than likely you will go with the 5-star rated auto mechanic. It is common sense really. Higher ratings matter. So, if you have a better product, then you will have a higher rating, period.

4. Hire an advertising agency.

There are plenty of Advertising Agencies out there in the market. The question is, which one is trustworthy and legit? Will they give you the ROI that they promise, or are they blowing smoke up your you know what? You need to do your research, due diligence and most likely through trial and error, you will find a trustworthy advertising agency that will have your best interests in mind and not theirs, most importantly they must be legitimate and produce results. You won’t know how they perform until a lot of time has passed. Usually more than 3-4 months, so please be patient. If the advertising agencies’ methods are effective then you will see good positive results within at least 6 months, which is more than enough time to determine whether they are good or simply just suck and produce zero results. Hang in there, if you need to see some positive valuable results tomorrow and you just got started, that simply does not work like that. Sorry to say. A lot of people promise you x amounts of sales or leads, but in the end, you’ll see a fraction of that realistically.

5. Hire a marketing team or create a marketing division in your company.

Just like hiring an advertising agency. Finding and hiring a good marketing agency can be just as arduous a task. Marketing involves more of a strategic analysis and planning for the advertising campaigns. This could mean that you will have someone post things at the right time before a sale or event so that you can maximize the potential of the advertising campaign. Or it could just be gathering a bunch of good ideas and eventually bringing them to the forefront and displaying the idea or strategy or advertising campaign most likely to the entire world or specific target audience. Also, you may need to hire a good marketing team to post images, videos, or presentations on social media. Remember to have a good customer relations management system in place so that you can use A/B regression testing on your campaigns to see which ones work the best. The marketing team should give you updates on their progress, and you should have a good understanding of where your hard-earned dollar is being spent on. As not to waste a lot of time and money, you should optimize this process and eventually you will be on the right track to profits and sales!

6. Hire a salesperson or find a good sales team.

This is really a difficult task. A lot of people are not wired or have the knowledge or feel of being a salesperson.
